A couple in life and in art, Charalambos and Vaso Sergiou have been together since 1999. Charalambos Sergiou was born in Famagusta in 1964. He studied art and science in London during the mid ’80s. Vaso Sergiou was born in Nicosia in 1969. She studied art and advertising in Greece during the early ’90s. Their work has been exhibited in group and solo shows, in Cyprus and Greece. During the period between 1999 and 2005 the couple explored the idea of the influence adults have on children. This idea then expanded and evolved into the way the mass media mould the audience. From 2005 until 2008 Sergiou explored the idea of the perception of the audience of the work on display and the artist himself. Their exhibition “the butterfly effect” in 2010 touched upon the metaphysical representation of humanity and its earthly expression.
