Demetris Neokleous

Demetris Neokleous (b. 1973) lives and works in Nicosia. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts at the Aristotelian University of Salonica (1991-1996) and at the Academy of Fine Arts of Wenhua Da Xue in Beijing (2000 – 2001). He was one of the founding members of Cyprus Noise of Coincidence Art Project (2001-) as well as of the Stoa Aeschylou Association (2007-). His solo exhibitions include: Palimpolis (2011) at the Vladimiros Kafkarides Cultural Centre, Snails (Escape Equipments) at Gallery Argo (2006) and Hi-Lite 5 (2004) at the Archimede Staffolini Gallery. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions including: Drawing Room (2011), Omikron Gallery, Nicosia, Cyprislandia (2011), Reykjavik Art Gallery, Dialogues with the Marchine (2010), Sala Berlanga MADATAC, Madrid, A Change of Air (2009), Laden Parkhaus, Amsterdam, The Beehive Project (2009), Artists with Attitude, Amsterdam, Landscapes of Body Memories (2008), Art Lab, Nicosia, Pro-Taseis (2008), Action Field Kodra, Thessalonica, Where Do We Go From Here? (2008), NIMAC, Nicosia and Perimeno Nea Sou (2008), Gounaropoulos Museum, Athens. In 2005, he represented Cyprus in the 11th Triennial of India, New Delhi.
