Eleni Economou (b. 1981) lives and works in Nicosia. She studied sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts in Greece. Between 2002 and 2003, she obtained a grant from S.S.F. and attended the Slade School of Fine Arts, University College London, UK, achieving the highest grade (A). Her first solo show Archetypes was held at Argo Gallery, Nicosia, in 2010. From 2008-2010 she was awarded a full-time financial grant from the S.S.F. of Greece to pursue her artistic work Studies in the Embroidery of Cyprus. In 2008 she participated in the sculpture workshop on the island of Susac, in Croatia, which was organised by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rijeka.
